How to Assemble Patterns at Home

GETTING STARTED

Printing your patterns at home gives you the ability to get straight into your project without having to leave your house. Once printed, it is easy to assemble the pattern pieces.

STEP 1: Print your pattern

Start by selecting the A4 or US letter pattern file from your purchased download files.

Since this is a digital sewing pattern, you’re going to need to print this out using a standard home printer. Make sure your printer settings are set to 100% scale.

STEP 2: Check the test square

To make sure your pattern is printing to size, it’s good practice to print the test square first. Use a measuring tool to check that the scale is accurate, then print out the rest of the pattern with the same settings.

STEP 3: Trim the pages

It’s time to trim the pages and assemble the layout of the pattern. Each page will need to be trimmed around the right and bottom edges. Follow the pattern layout guide to connect your pattern pieces.

STEP 4: Glue (or tape) the pages together

Now that the edges are all trimmed, we’ll need to glue (or tape) them together. Align the pages by matching the gray triangles along the edges. Sometimes the patterns don’t align exactly, just try to focus on getting the individual pattern pieces to align.

STEP 5: Cut out the pattern pieces

Now, go ahead and cut out the pattern pieces.
