Inspired by my granny.

Second Stitch to the Right is an heirloom brand inspired by previous generations. The name is a play on words from my favorite childhood movie, Peter Pan.

Growing up in Vancouver, Washington, during the late seventies I was influenced by the craft culture. My Grandmother, Granny, noticed my desire to learn traditional crafting skills and taught me everything I know. I fell in love with crafting and it has been a skill I have used in every season of my life.

My hope is that I can pass along this knowledge to future generations in an effort to inspire and preserve a skill that has served me well in life.

Passed down traditions.

When I first opened Second Stitch to the Right in 2015, I sold handmade quilts for families. My brand primarily focused on using high-quality materials for long-lasting memories. Running my business involved lots of long hours and late nights, but it truly warmed my soul to see how many families embraced the items I sold during those years.

There’s a season for everything.

In 2017, I decided to close my shop. It was not an easy decision but it was time to take a break. I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother, and my family needed me. During this season, I got to enjoy watching my grandkids grow up, be apart of my children’s lives in a more significant way, and deepen my relationship with my husband.

For the love of sewing.

I now find myself wanting to get back in the sewing room. I decided to open my business back up with a mission in mind. I want to pass along traditional sewing skills that were gifted to me by my grandmother. Making patterns allows me to explore creative ways to use these skills.

Inspired by my childhood in the Pacific Northwest with traditional English roots. My designs are meant to feel approachable with heirloom-like quality. Whether you're learning to sew for the first time or you want a low-commitment project, I want the process to be rewarding from start to finish.
